What I learned, I know, and what I knew, I know now, and what I know now I am beginning to walk in humility through the door into understanding.
Scripture shares, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." -Proverbs 4:7
There was an eruption in praise as we all stood together in the Sancturary as a dear sister sang a song of truth in Spanish. Many of the saint's brothers and sisters who knew Spanish as their first language ran the isles and praised the Lord a little quicker before it got to the rest of us. Many came down to praise because there was understanding whether the song was being sung in Spanish or English, but the Lord was working more through the Spanish interpretation. In joining my sisters in the Lord, I went to sister of mine who's Gift of the Holy Spirit not only mirrors mine, but our gifts play patty-cake together. We hugged and didn't let go until the Lord lightly lifted his loved poured over us.
The pastor spoke about being thankful for what you know more so going further into understanding. Bro. Chad Wright stood and contended for the Faith, for not only the Faith, but the understanding and prayer for increase of each of our visions that the Lord has given us. This is as we sit and listen, and we go down for prayer, as we walk daily this call of overcoming, of reaching perfection which is a daily walk. Earlier that day in the morning service, a dear Minister and Brother Bro. Bryant from Mesquite Texas stood and shared that farm animals have to have their hooves trimmed because of where they are, but animals in the wild, they do not have to trim their hooves because they continue to be on the move.
Prior to that another dear minister and brother Bro. Marshall said, " That the Gospel cannot stop at just grace and love, there is more to it, there is more to go. If you have stopped there..." If you stopped there well you've missed God.
In all thy getting get understanding.
There is a knowing when you first enter into The Body of Christ there is a knowing, whether this knowing is brought in from the religious world or it is something that is gained by what is learned while attending services there is a knowing that there is more. "Be still and know that I am God." There is a knowing and with that knowledge it puffed up. In the puffiness of that knowledge, as we seek for understanding it allows us to go from wearing the knowledge to living the knowledge embodying the knowledge daily. It transforms from a noun to a verb. Knowledge has verb qualities, but understanding has verb actionable abilities.
"Do not conform to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." -Romans 12:2
James talks about be ye doers of the word not just hearers of it, he shares that someone who does not remember what they look like after looking into the mirror is the same as someone who hears to the word and does not do it. Jesus shares in the gospels the parable of the different grounds one plants seed to produce good fruit (Luke 8:5-8), liking it to the one who hears and their response within the confines of their actions. This is after hearing the truth of the Word of God that requires interaction within their personal relationship with Christ and their connection/interaction/vision with and of the Body of Christ
"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in the glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this man shall be bless in his deed." James 1:22-25
Knowing is not enough and it is a must that our faith be tested to see what we are made of as it is shared in 1Corinthians 3:12-13:
"Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is."
Yet even that is a calling.
Knowing does not keep your feet trimmed, your lamp filled with oil, instead your feet will become one as in the miry clay. Caked in knowing without movement forward in living and understanding. How can one with a live soul not live fully in and work with the one who has come to give life and life more abundantly?
